Our Pregnancy Question of the Month is "What Has DHA?" - First off, What is
DHA? More specifically, What is
"Prenatal DHA"? Prenatal DHA is a dietary supplement that goes along with your normal prenatal vitamins. It helps babies brain development. Studies show most women don't get enough Omega-3 Fatty Acids in their normal diet. That's why it's important to supplement 300 milligrams of dha daily. Specifically, DHA is Docosahexaenoic acid. It's an Omega-3 Fatty Acid that's critical to ensure proper brain development during pregnancy. What has DHA? Mostly Fatty Fish or Algae Oil Supplements. We specifically recommend pregnant women begin supplementing months of professional supplements as soon as possible, even before conception if that's an option. If vegetarian or vegan, use an algae oil with high DHA content
We recommend all pregnant women breathe clean air. Intake of air with high PM2.5 particulate matter has been linked to cardiovascular disease in otherwise healthy adults. To protect your baby we recommend an air purifier car cabin air filter
car air purifier as well as an air purifier for at home.
